The shocking news of the abrupt termination of the contract of FC Goa Foot-ball team Head Coach Sergio Lobera by the FC Goa’s non-Goan management was very disturbing at this critical stage. Normally the Coach is sacked when his performance is not good however, the barometer of his performance can be easily read when one sees the name of FC Goa on top of the table. However, inspite of this high achievement his services were terminated means something very serious must have gone wrong which as a Goan and also as a supporter of Goa, on behalf of all the like minded Goans, I demand full explanation from the management of the FC Goa. The “Panpotti” Indians from beyond the borders of Goa are not interested in protecting the image, culture, tradition, ethics and feelings of Goans, they are only interested in making money at the cost of the image and name of Goa. These Non-Goans are so rascals that they care nothing for Goa. It was our mistake in the beginning itself we as Goans should have jumped into this well and took possession of FC Goa in our Goan hands. Don’t we have millionaires among us Goans? Couldn’t we do something drastic at that particular time? Deltin's owner took over FC Goa to silence the voice of Goans against his “Cheddiepon” that he does in Goa by doing the nasty business of vulgarity and gambling which Goans as a whole hate.
Now, if Goans are really interested in protecting the interest of Goan then they must join together in a big or mediocre or small groups and go to Panjim with Placards, Posters and Banners against Casino Deltin Owners and shout slogans in front of their customers entering into the small boats to go to the Deltin Casino and oppose their customers from patronizing the Deltin Casinos. Let there be noise and more noise against Deltin Owners. Take somebody a lead to organize this protest. Unless we hit their business they will never come to their senses, these Non-Goans Pimps take us for granted and because of their poor attitude towards us we must indicate to them what we can do. It is not only to Deltin owners but wherever possible we must boycott the goods and services of all the Ghanttis and Non-Goans. The last weapon Ghandiji used against the British in India was to “Boycott British Goods and Services”.
It is a normal procedure not to discard the Coach when the team is performing well but what has happened now is totally opposite. It is not the money of FC Goa management is at stake but more than that it is the image of GOA that is at stake and these Non-Goan owners of FC Goa are interested only in acquiring money and more money by using the name of Goa to promote their vulgar business. Originally the greater number of Goans were against using the name and image of Goa by the Casino Owner for making money because this money is acquired thru unethical means but being a sirud Gujarati tactician the Non-Goan owner of Casino Deltin and FC Goa finally succeeded in silencing the negative voices of Goans by magnetizing the Goans to FC Goa thru the mode of soccer which is the most dearest to Goans’.
It took Sergio Lobera over 2 years to bring this team to this high level as a well knit outfit where all the players are trained to play magnificently well with good co-ordination and combination, however, now for them to adapt to the new methods of the new Coach will be rather problematic. This will surely upset their confidence and create tension for them. They will really get disturbed. And this harsh action of the FC GOA Management was unwarranted at this critical time. I disagree with this decision and I condemn it with all my love for Goa and Goanness.
Finally, as given to understand, a replacement for Sergio Lobera has already appointed but whoever he may be what European and SouthAmerican can do as a Soccer Trainer none others can do. A good foot-baller need not necessarily become a good coach. The knowledge and tactics and techniques of the Coach from Europe & South America are totally unique. If India is crawling in making improvement in the most popular sport in the world that is the Soccer, it is only because we dont have vision to improve our soccer. We must entrust our soccer into the hands of a very capable Coach from the West or South America preferably from Brazil and signa long term contract with him and then see the results. Indian Soccer rulers and pundits do not want Indian soccer to come up, they are useless and shameless. See the Gulf Arab countries, they were nowhere till recentrly in soccer but now they are ruling their areas and their continent, the small countries like Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE not only played in the Olympics but also in the World Cup Tournaments by utilising the services of top Trainers from the West and South America mainly the Brazilian. And we are crawling. The way we are crawling we will never beable to particvipate in the World Cup.
