The first Konkani Audio Album was produced by the late Alfred Rose in Bombay while the first Konkani CD was produced by the late Rosary Ferns in Kuwait. Both these events are historical and both Alfred Rose and Rosary Ferns proved to be history creators. May their Konkani souls enjoy the Heavenly peace.
From Kuwait and in Kuwait while working, Goans have performed and still performing lot of activities in different fields, Konkani Stage Art is one activity. There are lot of Stage artistes in Kuwait who show their talent thru different ways and one of them is producing of Konkani Albums in the form of Cassettes, CD’s, VCD’s and DVD’s.
Recently, on last Sunday in Kuwait city during a Konkani Show, well known Konkani Stage artiste, songster and Playwright Laurent Pereira from Utorda, Salcette and a long timer in Kuwait, released his new DVD “TOVUI EK MUNIS..!
This DVD comprises a Play written by Laurente Pereira, Comedy Skits also written by Larente Pereira and Songs rendered by different singers, namely Laurente Pereira, Pascoal Rodrigues, Saby de Divar, Macus Vas, Querbona Carvalho, Lawry Travasso, Romilla Barreto and others.
Among the songs, the best one I liked was “Navancho Resped Rakat” by Pascoal Rodrigues. The other interesting songs were “Mog Bhau Bhoinnacho” by Laurente Pereira and Carmen, “Kalzantle Sintiment” by Lawry Travasso, “Koddok Kaido” by Marcus Vaz, “Bogllant” by Saby de Divar, “Khotto Vis" by Romila Britto and “Angantle Gunn” by Laurente Pereira, Querobina Carvalho, Sandra & Abigail.
The Play was performed by Sylvester Vaz, Annie Quadros, Pascoal Rodrigues, Romila Britto, Laurente Pereira and Volito and all of them played their roles well as per the direction of the producer. Since it is my wish that everyone to buy this Album and see for himself, I am not disclosing the contents but tell that its ending part is excellent which no one must miss.
In the Comedy Skits, Comedian Selvy and Comedian Jannet along with her husband Filipe add extra flavor to this DVD.
