Today morning in the social media I saw one post by the AAP  member Anthony D’Souza from Calangute saying, under the guidance of the  candidate of AAP in Calangute constituency in the forthcoming ZP election Mr. Manuel Cardoso and their few colleagues, up to 5th of this month  distributed, free of charge, food items/rations  to some needy locals totaling to approximately 40 houses and more will follow.

Let me congratulate the AAP in Calangute for doing this type of wonderful job and thereby indicating to every  voter in the forthcoming election his/her obligation towards AAP.  We need now the political parties and politicians who help the poor and needy more,  of course taking into consideration the integrity, character and discipline of the candidates and their parties. No doubt, it is better late than never but at least it was a good job undertaken by the AAP.

According to the latest news, Congress Party welcomed the decision of the government to cut the MP’s salaries. I feel this cut is peanuts compared to other luxuries they receive at the cost of tax payers money. This cut in the salaries of MP’s should not be temporary till current Corona Virus is subsided but it should be permanently.  Our MP’s are living the life of Maharajas creating non-egaliterian society.  Why our ministers should live in Goa in big Bungalows at Altinho Panjim?  Why they need posh foreign brand cars?  Some of them till recently were riding 2 wheelers and  born in the “Khomtti”.

Because of these luxuries beyond their imagination, they tempt to use corrupt practices to get elected and in the bargain promote and allow corruption in the country.  This is the greatest evil India  is suffering making Indian democracy  a big joke.

By the way are we worthy of this surplus democracy for us in the midst of large scale financial poverty where our  voters are become purchasable commodities?  Some of our candidates especially those contesting successfully twice and above also holding ministerial positions are acting like Dadas wherein they can either make you or mar you, they have on their pay lists especial manpower to do any dirty and cruel jobs for them.  Their money power is so great that by making money thru corrupt practices  they accumulated huge amount of money   which they spend during their election contesting to purchase the votes from the most disgraceful and the third class voters.
