KONKANI IN ROMAN SCRIPT. which is the citadel of Konkani language was unfortunately turned against it having more anger and revenge on Roman script Konkani because it is supported, patronized and promoted by the Christians. In reality, the opponents of Konkani and mainly the opponents of Romi Konkani are not against this language but they are against those who patronize, promote and use it for their liturgical purposes. The real enemies of Konkani and especially those of Roman script came to the surface as seen, only following the invasion of Goa by Bharat without the approval of ovemrwhelming majoriy of Goans especially those Goa based Goans who incidentally were caught unaware when they saw the huge convoy of Millitary vehicles on the Goan roads early in the morning on 18th December 1961. On 17 th of December 1961, against the wishes of USA and some other Western countries tried to stop Bharat Serkar’s army from entering into Goan soil in which case this act of Bandidtry will be considered a big robbery, however inspite of having majority for this topic in favour of Goa yet it was rejected in the Security Council because Soviet Russia a Conmmunist Chamcha of Bharat vetoed it making Indian Troops to enter Goa easily. In fact during its decade old membership with UNO this was 99th time Soviet Russia used its veto power and that too against us Goans who welcome them as our tourist guests. Soviet Russia while casting this veto said “colonialism must come to an end and since Portugal is involved is keeping Goa as its colony, they opposed it. On 19th December 1961 Bharat of Nehru got ready made Goa for them because as it was given to understand then that on the advice of the then Portuguese Patriarch of Goa, His Grace Alvernaz pleaded with the Portuguese Governador of Goa, His Excellency Vassalo e Silva not to destroy Goa by implanting Bombs all over Goa on the advice of Portuguese Dictator Antonio Oliveira Salazar. Hence we all Goans irrespective of their religions should be grateful to the Goa Patriach and Goa Governador. At about 10.00 AM to 11.OO AM surrendering of Goa by the Portuguese regime took place in Panjim with the huge noise of joyful slogans such Jai Hind, Bharat Mata ki Jai, Nehru Zindabad, Salazar Murdabad etc. The picture gathered from that spot and elsewhere in North Goa was totally against the followers of Romi script Konkani that means majority of Christians as if Christians were pro-Portuguese. All nonsense, Goan Christians were known to be the greatest fighters and poponnents of Freedom for Goa. The great Christian Patriot of Goa Dr. Franciso Luis Gomes pleaded and demanded for the liberation of Goa by raising his voice for the liberation of Goa in the Portuguese Parliament itself and in other parts of Europe. Not only this, by standing on the land of Europe he demanded independence not only for Goa but also for the entire British India. Nobody else has done this type of act. Candolim’s Pintos under the banner of Pintos Revolutionaries the priests joined together and revolted against the Portuguese rule in Goa, the Pintos were the Roman Catholic Priests. The entire Salcette belt produced overwhelming number of Freedom Fighters coming from the Roman Script Konkani followers. The entire clan of Pintos revolutionaries were also the followers of Roman Script Konkani including that genius Dr. Francisco Luis Gomes from Navelim who represented South Goa constituency in the Portuguese Parliament also the proud foer of Roman Script Konkani.
