Two beautiful articles last week one after the other by A. Veronica Fernandes in this forum created lot of ripples not only among Goans but also among other nationalities. The first was on Kuwait’s Liberation day function in Panaji and the other on Bastardisation of Managership.

Regarding the first one, I must admire Veronica to organize such a great function of international standard, his individual efforts in organizing this function is commendable. I was present there for this function and I appreciate Veronica the way he spoke on international topic as this function. Besides Veronica I dont think any one else can handle such subjects.

The presence of a top Kuwaiti for this function coming all the way from Kuwait first time in the history of Kuwait Goans was an important happening. Normally Kuwaitis do not mix up with Indians but with Goans they do and this credit goes to Veronica alone who brought Kuwaitis closer to Goans. And the honouring of Veronica by Mubarak Al Hindal on behalf of Kuwait with a Muffler depicting Kuwaiti Flag and with a Plaque was very deserving.

My only regret was that those Goans who earned so much from Kuwait when they don’t deserve it remained absent from attending this function organized only to show our gratitude to Kuwait. Most of them are Christians and by not attending they showed their ingratitude to the country from where they earned their daily bread. This act of ingratitude is anti-Christian. I cannot imagine how Kuwait Goans have gone to such a low level. By working in Kuwait they accumulated so much of wealth, built Bungalows, acquired properties and married to affluent girls and built their families. This happened only because they happened to be in Kuwait otherwise it would not have been possible. God forgive them for their ingratitude. Ingratitude is common only with third class people and among Kuwait Goans there are plenty of them.  In his own village Candolim and in his own Vaddo Pintos most of the ex Kuwaitkars ignored this meet purely as third class people and they are third class.

Sadly there was not a single Tiatrist nor a single Padri when both these communities benefitted so much from Kuwaiti Dinars.

Regarding the second one, I fully agree with Veronica who clearly mentioned in this article the harassment the German manager inflicted on poor employees. It was not only in Behbehani but in most of the companies the Managers are harassing the staff. Veronica must write more and more on such topics and send the copies to the Kuwaiti owners. Veronica is the only person who can write on such topics while others like domestic servants only talk.
