Who is the controller of the activities going on now all over Goa to ask justice for the alleged murder of Fr. Bismark? Are these activities organized under the leadership of one individual or one group? Or every group is responsible for its action? I think for the smooth running of these activities there should be an apex body to control everything concerning the awakening to get justice for Fr. Bismark.
On 21stNovember, the Black Saturday incidents and ugly happenings would not have taken place if on that day the leadership was more visible from the beginning and the activities were organized more carefully taking into consideration the introduction of section 144. Peaceful protesters when permitted to pray to the Cross located in Panjim near Ferry Jetty, there was no proper leadership to handle the Police dadagiri leaving everything in everyone’s hand as “free for all”. There was no proper spokesman to talk gently to the brute police force. There was no proper guidance nor instruction for the protesters what to do and what not to.
On 30th November protest in front of Panjim Police Station, there were more policemen to maintain law and order than those expected to break the law because enough publicity was not done by the organisers. People also doubted the sincerity of the organisers because according to some people, in this group there are a few elements closer to the top leadership of BJP Goa and a few elements are trying to gain political advantage in the name of Fr. Bismark.
It is my request to all the individual leaders and groups too, to call one meeting to bring about cohesion among all and thus give an orgnised leadership to this movement which otherwise is creating an excellent awareness on Fr. Bismark issue by putting heavy pressure on government as it is seen how government is condescending and relenting.
There cannot be disparate groups under disparate leaders for the same cause. Hence, persons as seen playing pivotal roles on this subject, namely Dalvi, Zico, Kennedy, Prajal, Hema and Adv. Jitin like statesmen must come under one umbrella to carry forward this movement with more vigour till our goal is acquired.
Though so many activities are conducted during the last one month but have the family members of Fr. Bismark taken into confidence by any one or they are kept into total darkness? I feel while these activities are underway, why not we conduct an indefinite chain hunger strike in Panjim at Azad Maidan to draw the attention of all and keep this movement going till the satisfactory outcome? I will also participate in this move as I did during the language agitation by specially coming from Kuwait.
Finally, to reach the message of our activities to all, there should be sufficient publicity and for doing this the organisers must spend money which can be collected thru contribution from few of us including me. In this way the publicity may be carried out. The publicity should also reach to all over India and to outside world too. When Pastor Steines was killed in Orissa, this news created uproar not only all over India but also all over the world but when Fr. Bismark was liquidated, this news failed to create noise as it was done for Pastor Steines.
