The following is in reply to A.Veronica Fernandes aricle "Mount campaign for justice for Fr. Bismark" appeared in this forum on 13.12.15.
Dear Veronica,
As the Zila Panchayat Representative, I along with my MLA Michael Lobo did take up the matter with the CM. He has assured us that the Police department will get to the bottom of the case and transferred it to Crime branch. Let me admit that our police force or the Crime branch is not well trained in Crime scene investigation and they messed up big time initially when they found the body and wrongly presumed that he was drunk and drowned.
The CM asked the forensics team in Hyderabad to submit the viscera report within a month it normally takes 2-6 months. Now that we know that he is not drunk as there was no alcohol in his stomach all angles needs to be investigated.
Please let us know whatever help you need. Maybe there is a disconnect between the people and the Police in terms of the investigation and some questions about the death of Fr. Bismarque remain unanswered. Whatever question you have please let me know. I'll ask my MLA Michael Lobo to get the answers from the police.
We all are concerned about the death of Fr. Bismarque we may not be vocal about it but we are doing our small bit.
I used to follow his Kindness campaign on FB and used to chat with him then. He was a nice person and cared a lot about our environment. Goa misses him now HOW I wish people were with him when he was alive.
Regards
