Yesterday in Panjim at T.B. Cunha Hall, at 3.15 PM, I attended the meeting organized by “BHARAT MUKTI MORCHA” to commemorate the 17th anniversary of the sale of Vanxim Island by the corrupt leaders of the Goa Church, the sinful Archbishops of Goa. In this sin, both the Goan Bishops are involved, namely Archbishop Raul Gonsalves who paved the way for the entry for corruption, Liquour and sex in the Church hierarchy and Archbishop Felipe Neri Ferrao whose craze as alleged for money is exorbitant. On this date, 9th of April in 1999 the agreement to sell Vanxim Island to Mahendra Gaunekar by Raul Gonsalves was signed. As per this agreement, Raul Gonsalves agreed to sell 4,85,400 sq. mtrs. of land consisting of paddy fields and Bunds to Mahendra Gaunekar. This fact is recorded in the document of Sale Deed executed on 11th February 2006 between Arch. Felipe Neri Ferrao and Mahendra Gaunekar.
It was disgusting to know that these supposed to be the holy men of Goa Church never communicated this sale of Vanxim Island to the people of Vanxim till today. Moreover, the Bishop House called the residents of Vanxim Island as “so called tenants” when in reality they are real Mundkars. I fail to understand how the holy men of Bishop House degenerated into Devil men for the sake of money? I am sure, these both Archbishops of Goa – one retired and the current, one day if they get an opportunity, they will even sell the entire Roman Catholicism to any other denomination. They are both worst than Judas. They both have betrayed not only the people of Vanxim but also the entire Catholic community from Goa. Can we accept such traitors as our leaders? How can we trust such cunning and sinful Catholic leaders?
This Goa Church is on record to oppose sinful and vulgar tourism industry in Goa. But now how this same Church under the money crazy leader Ferrao gave its nod to promote tourism in Vanxim comprising sinful Golf Course, Casinos, Private Marinas, Recreational Clubs, Real Estate Villas and Five Star Hotels? Does the Canon Law permit Goa Church to sell its land to promote such sin oriented activities? As per my information, Canon Law gives its nod to sell Church properties only for the purpose of devine worship, charity works and such other decent activities”.
During the meeting Press Conference was held and the same was addressed by the president of BMM Mrs. Maggie Silveira. Earlier Sebastian Rodrigues welcomed the guests and explained the purpose of the meet. The others who spoke during the meeting were Shradda Kassar of Nestle Contract Worker and Joseph D’Silva from Chandor.
