Well played Spain in the final of the Confederation Cup on Sunday, 30TH of last month, held in Brazil. I congratulate Spain for being worthy runners-up since this was the maximum it could attain from the mighty Brazil which is unbeatable currently. To say Viva Brazil will be a small compliment for such a fabulous team. Current Brazil squad is unconquerable by any national team of this planet; there is no team now in the world to defeat the existing Brazil. It is too powerful in every department of the game. This squad of Brazil resembles more or less the 1982 Brazil squad where in forward line Zico, Socrates, Eder and Falcao created havoc for their opponents and if they failed against Paulo Rossi’s Italy, it was only because luck failed them. The 1982 Brazil team had everything to win the Cup except Luck which is the most essential factor for the success.
Spain has given all their best to win the final but finally found impossible to out beat the mighty Brazil whose forward line with Neymar as a key player played artistic game of which type currently nobody plays. The accuracy of passing and shooting the ball by the Brazilians with excellent physical fitness were superb and their method of blasting the ball into the opponents’ goal from inside the penalty area without wasting time was appropriate. This was the instruction given by their both the world class coaches Filipe Scholarli and Carlos Alberto. Both these coaches were the world cup winners for Brazil earlier.
My full admiration goes to Spanish team and their people to accept this defeat gracefully by praising the winners Brazil, of course deservingly without giving silly excuses. Minus Brazil, Spain alone is the winner of Confederation Cup.
In 1970 World Cup held in Mexico, Brazil under Pele’s genius massacred the mighty Italy under Fascheti, Riva, Rivera and Mazzola but when they returned back to Italy, at Rome Airport as the runners-up, the Italians were welcomed by the Italian crowd as World Champions because they said Brazil team is unbeatable having in its ranks super footballers like Pele, Tostao, Revelino, Gerson and skipper Carlos Alberto. Minus Brazil, they concluded, Italians are the world best. Hence the hero’s welcome for them.
Neymar of Brazil at the young age of 21 become a millionaire is a hard fact but to equate him to Pele is not correct. In the current scenario he is the best but not as best as Pele was at 21. There cannot be another Pele because Pele is Pele and such Peles come in this world only once in centuries. And according to me we will never get another Pele at least during our life time.
If Brazil won the Confederation Cup last week it was not because of the genius of Neymar but because of their superb team work in which Spanish players had to give in a lot for their opponents’ high tactics. Brazil played like a well-oiled machine from the point of their keeper to their forward line. World has to learn a lot from this Brazil squad. It is not the victory that matters the most but it was the entertaining soccer that Brazil dished out. After many years we got an opportunity to see the real Brazilian soccer.
WELL DONE BRAZIL.
