Rosy Alvares sings her solo
One of the prominent Tiatro writers, directors, Songsters and the composers, Mario Menezes staged his new Tiatro "DON ROSTE” at the Kala Academy Hall, on 01ST of this month which was attended by the good number of attendees. Mario Menezes whom I have been seeing acting on the Konkani Stage since last 40 years is enriching Konkani Stage with his Tiatros, one each every year. He is the successful director having his own troupe and with the help of this troupe he stages his Tiatros.
Rioma Menezes sings her solo
Comedian Joana sings her solo
In this Tiatro Don Roste he is playing a leading role of a non-Goan Ghantti type who symbolises the mind set of such people that is when they come to Goa they come as slaves but gradually within a short time they become masters. In this character, Mario Menees trying to tell us that the way Ghanttis and other migrants coming to Goa and establish themselves in Goa so strongly that there is nothing we can do unless we take up the trades that they are doing. In this role Mario Menezes indicates that there is nothing they cannot get. Since these Ghanttis and Migrants got the voting rights their bargaining power is enhanced tremendously.
A scene where you see Comedians Joana & Jesus
In my village next there is our Vaddo where I stay, it is called Araddy. A few years back when I left for Kuwait and also many of my colleagues, our village affairs gone into the hands of third class rulers, In fact they were not meant to rule anything, the art and science of ruling was not ingrained in their blood. Many of them were brought up like slaves with their parents who were also brought up worst than slaves by the then Bhattkarshahi. But when they got the opportunities to get elected in the absence of stiff competition since persons like me were already left Goa leaving vacuum, these once non-entities stepped in and thought of making fast money. Their mind set was surrounded only on money because they lacked it during their younger days and secondly they being the sons and daughters of hoi-polloi parentage they lacked wisdom to rule the village and Goa.
Another scene: Rosy Alvares-Franky & Francis
Hence, they created a settlement zone in my neighbouring place where it is named as New Araddy where according to my information you can get eryting and anything. Without any respect for rules and regulatios they were given permission to construct houses. And those locals who were responsible to allow those migrants to stay there have minted money which are visible thru the display of their assets in dfferent forms. These migrants are become the very good vote-bank for the local leaders to get sure votes for them. On the surety of their votes OUR candidates talk big and they in turn pamper these non-Gons so much that they are become Goans and Goans as Ghantees.
Tony de Ribandar sings the best song of the Tiatro
Well done Mario Menezes and his troupe. Mario’s role was excellent, so too of seasoned artiste Rosy Alvares, Franky and Francis however if they had to lower their voices while delivering their statements and diologues it would have been better. Every statement and every word you need not raise your voice.
Yet another item which is one the best is the above trio by Rioma-Melisha-R.Alvares
Evergreen and still glowing Rosy Alvares played her role as mother very well so too Franky and Francis as brothers. Others too played their roles well to make this tiatro a big success.
A duet renderted by Lawry Travasso & Rosy Alvares
The comedy role was nicely handled by the seasoned comedians Jesus Antao and Joana. I saw Jesus performing after a long time.
In the Side Show songs, Rioma Menees, Rosy Alvares, lawry Travasso and Tony de Ribandar did well.
In a romantic pose seen dancing above are Melisha and Francis.
