TIATRO "OSLEO SUNO" BY TONY DE RIBANDAR.
On 11th of this month I saw the Tiatro “OSLEO SUNO” written and directed by Tony de Ribandar at Panjim Kala Academy Hall, starting at 3.15 pm. It was attended by a good number of attendees but not a full house. The story was well written and every artiste played his role well.
Antonette de Maina & Roma seen singing their song
The story revolves around the discipline of the daughters-in-law whose roles were enacted by Roma and Rosy Alvares while Mario Menezes and Tari played the roles of their husbands. Tari as usual with his handsome image and physically in good shape as an actor with his perfect clarity of his expression, played his part very accurately. But Anil Pednecar playing the destructive role of the son-in-law stole the whole show. He has unique quality in playing such roles. His role was the talk of the evening at Kala Academy after the Show. The other artiste who deserves mention is Pascoal Rodrigues whose role of an aged father was excellent.
Lawry Travasso singing on desecration of the image of Christ
The introductory scene was very well done when the director introduced all the artistes to the audience.
A scene where newly Wedded couples are seen
In the comedy part Sally stole the show as he maintained the edge over others. He does his comedy role in a traditional way by not screaming and shouting loudly as it is done in Khell Tiatros. The Tiatro system is much different from Khell Tiatro system. Secondly the words like Sunneachea Kastacho is not appropriate to use in such a forum. The director should note this folly. Though she acts as a servant but in her dress code Joana looks like owner of the house. This has to be corrected. The way she expresses herself it looks she is the madam of the house. Servants do not act as masters. Servant is a servant and as such her role should confine to her area only, she cannot overstep her area of functioning.
Pascoal Rodrigues seen singing his solo
In the Side Show songs, Francis de Tuem’s solo on Terakol problem deserved highest compliments as it was composed with scholarly research and deep study of the subject. Such songs earlier were rendered by Alexinho de Candolim, Remy Colaco and M.Boyer. Kudos to Francis de Tuem. The other songs deserve mention here were of Lawry Travasso’s solo, Pascoal Rodrigues solo, Rosy Alvares’ duet with her partner, Xavier Gomes’ solo, Marcus Vaz'a solo and the song rendered by Antonette de Mana and Roma.

The Tiatro is worth watching as there is a lot to learn from this Tiatro both with regards to the story as well as with the songs. Hence, kudos to the director and all the artistes.
