Whoever they may be responsible but they are criminals for neglecting the repairing of Calangute roads when they are duty bound to get these roads repaired. The roads in Arpora, Nagoa and Parra are in excellent condition while in Calangute only they are in very bad condition especially from Candolim – Calanute Ximer right up to the Calangute Panchayat on one side and up to the Calangute Church on the other side. Not only you cannot drive properly nor ride but cannot even walk safely. Where are the responsible persons gone now? Can the local MLA, Panchayat or PWD answer why these roads are neglected?
Calangute is the world renown touristic place and when tourists are inconvenienced along with the locals, how can you expect the flood of tourists when the face of touristic place Calangute is splashed with very bad roads? Is this the way to develop tourism in Goa? Is Tourism Minister listening to my cry?
Rightly or wrongly, people in the locality are blaming the local MLA and local Panchayat for this criminal neglect of Calangute roads where so many accidents take place and yet there is no improvement. Whoever they may be responsible for this neglect but they are unfit to perform their duties. Those who are holding responsibilities for looking after these roads are irresponsible persons belonging to the category of “Ladru & Pedru” and not the category of efficient administrators.
Unfortunately, the administration of Goa is gone into the hands of Ladrus & Pedrus only, some of them will come to our door very shortly begging for our votes. In my constituency I will not forget them unless there is a clarification on this subject.
